Renovating the bathroom: prices, timelines and the decisions that matter
From €3,500 and one to two weeks: what a well-executed bathroom includes, where extra money pays off and where it doesn’t.
By the Andalucía Reformas team ·

What does a complete bathroom cost?
From €3,500 with mid-range finishes to €8,000–10,000 high-end, for 4–6 m², demolition and installations included.
Never cut three items: shower-zone waterproofing (it protects your neighbour’s ceiling), branded thermostatic taps (cheap ones drip within two years) and ventilation (internal bathrooms grow mould without extraction). Mirrors, accessories and screens accept mid ranges without real loss.
Bath or shower?
Unless you genuinely use the bath, the walk-in shower wins: safer, easier to clean, better use of space. The bath-to-shower conversion takes 2-3 days from €1,900 and can qualify for accessibility grants.
Which tiles?
Large-format rectified porcelain on display walls, class 2-3 anti-slip on the shower floor. Large formats demand expert laying on a flat substrate — make sure preparation is itemised, as we explain in tiling. Seamless alternative: microcement.
